FA announces inaugural Women’s Football Weekend in November

The FA is urging fans to attend a women’s game at any level of the pyramid during their very first Women’s Soccer Weekend on November 16-17.
Based on the Non-League Day theory that was effective, the weekend is timed to match a pause from the Premier League and English Football League calendars for matches, and it’s hoped this will develop into an yearly event.
It is going to build at the Women’s Super League, which saw more than 62,000 fans observe the women’s match during a second break for the international football of men.
A list 31,213 fans saw the first Manchester derby in the WSL at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, whereas more than 24,000 saw Chelsea take on Spurs in Stamford Bridge, and similar numbers will be expected in November, having a north London derby in the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, also a Merseyside derby along with Manchester United’s trip to Chelsea on the program.
In a statement, the FA’s women’s professional game director Kelly Simmons said:»We’re excited to announce the first ever Women’s Soccer Weekend, for what is sure to be yet another fantastic moment in a year which has witnessed huge momentum behind the growth in popularity of women’s football.
«After in the Dramatic FIFA Women’s World Cup and launching Barclays FA Women’s Super League weekend, there has never been a better time to see your neighborhood staff, and we encourage all supporters to become involved in any respect levels of the pyramid on November 16-17.»
Among the fittings available from the Women’s Championship that weekend would be Crystal Palace versus London City Lionesses and Durham from London Bees, and there’ll also be a programme of cup and league games the women’s pyramid.
