Rafael Nadal stated it was»impossible» to maintain his emotions after winning the US Open title in an»memorable» five-set struggle with Daniil Medvedev.
Nadal, 33, beat Medvedev 7-5 6-3 5-7 6-4 that is 4-6 in just four hours 50 minutes in New York to win his Grand Slam.

«This trophy means everything to me today,» said Nadal, who has won four titles in Flushing Meadows.
«Personal satisfaction of the way which I resisted all these difficult moments is very significant.
«The emotions have been there seeing all the success, all the minutes that came into my mind in that moment. Yeah, I tried to hold the emotion, however some minutes was hopeless.»
Nadal cruised in two sets and a split 23, until fifth seed Medvedev, fought back to take Sunday’s closing to some decider.

«The manner in which the game became very dramatic in the end, that makes this day unforgettable, a part of the history of this game,» Nadal said.

«I do not consider it like this,» he said. «I always say exactly the same: I’d really like to be the one who wins more, but I am not thinking [about it].
«I feel honoured to be a part of the struggle [with Federer and Djokovic]. However, I really feel that I will not be more happy or less happy in this doesn’t happen or happens.
«I’m not going to practice every day or never play tennis for it. Since I love to play tennis, I am playing with tennis.
«I can not simply consider Grand Slams, no? Tennis is over Grand Slams. I want to consider the remaining things.
«I seem to be joyful. Needless to say, the success today makes me super happy. But a couple weeks before, I won at Montreal and [that has been ] an important moment for me, also.
«All of the items that I achieved in my career are a lot more than what I thought and what I dreamed.»
